TAILWIND PAYLOAD

KEF Robotics' Tailwind Navigation Payload attaches to an aircraft through simple mechanical interface, a MAVLINK UART connection to a flight controller, and a 20W, 5-54v DC power input. Mounted with a nadir view, the payload acts as a GPS-alternative with or without maps, day or night, and to a wide range of aircraft across varied flight regimes.

The transition to autonomous flight is a 3-step process that can be completed in a single day of on-site integration:

  • Mount and connect payload for bench testing

  • Validate software performance on open-loop flight data

  • Validate closed-loop performance in flight

Advantages of the payload:

  • Compatible Px4 and Ardupilot

  • Quick-turn integration (fly within a few hours)

  • Low SWaP-C design

  • NDAA compliant

  • Non-ITAR, 7A994 under Department of Commerce

  • State estimation output
